Ladies and Gentlemen, the last colloquium of the semester will be a concert with Korean artists, Hang Jun Lee, Unseong and Hankil Ryu. The concert will take place on the 29th of November, at 7:30pm, in the M1060 Multimedia Theater which is down the hall at the end, right after you walk in the main entrance. We are excited to have NIME conference (New Interfaces for Musical Expression) co-founder Dr. Michael Lyons come speak to us about his field of work. Dr. Lyons will outline a process for creating new musical interfaces, and share with us key issues that concern NIME researchers in regards to interface design. The talk will be on the 19th of November, at the usual time and place, at 5:00pm, in room M6094 Future Cinema.
Bio: Michael Lyons has worked in computational neuroscience, pattern recognition, cognitive science, and interactive arts. He was a Research Fellow at the California Institute of Technology (1992/3), and a Lecturer and Research Assistant Professor at the University of Southern California (1994/96). From 1996-2007 he was a Senior Research Scientist at the Advanced Telecommunications Research International Labs in Kyoto, Japan. In 2007, he joined the newly founded College of Image Arts and Sciences, Ritsumeikan University, as Full Professor. Michael co-founded the New Interfaces for Musical Expression conference.
