Film Festival – Women in Bollywood

This week’s colloquium will feature a two-day film festival named Women in Bollywood, in collaboration with the organization Beyond Bollywood, on 24th and 25th March 2018.

The festival is to showcase Bollywood films that positively address the position of women in society. This is designed both for students and the general public and will be free of charge. We will also have a dance event in the afternoon of both days.

There will be sharing and discussions after each screening. We are delighted that the star of Anaarkali of Aarah, Swara Bhaskar, has agreed come to Hong Kong for this event. Ms. Bhaskar is specialized in affirmative female roles. For detailed programme please refer to the posters.

On March 24th

1st screening – PIKU

2nd screening – Dum Laga Ke Haisha

On March 25th

1st screening – Nil Battey Sannata

2nd screening – Anaarkali of Aarah

These 4 screenings + sharing session will be included as the SM2703 Creative Media Colloquium. Here’s how the attendance will be counted:

March 24th PIKU + Sharing and Discussion with Lamia Sreya and Devi Novianti Count as 1 attempt. Attendance will be taken after the sharing session.
Dum Laga Ke Haisha + Sharing and Discussion with Jeffrey Andrews Count as 1 attempt. Attendance will be taken after the sharing session.
March 25th Nil Battey Sannata + Sharing & Discussion with Swara + Swara Bhasker in conversation with Richard Allen Count as 1 attempt. Attendance will be taken after the “Swara Bhasker in conversation with Richard Allen” session.
Anaarkali of Aarah + Sharing & Discussion with Swara Bhasker and Dr. Priyanka Jain Count as 1 attempt. Attendance will be taken after the sharing session.
